Since 2000, the group has raised more than $100,000 through its annual Hillbilly Outfield Kentucky Derby Party, helping to grant the wishes of local wish children.
Hillbilly Outfield began as a small weekend Derby party in the backyard of Jim Hafendorfer. The tradition grew quickly, and was soon transformed into an annual fundraiser for Make-A-Wish.
What began as a small gathering for friends and colleagues over a decade ago has become a signature event of Derby weekend, drawing large crowds and public support with food, beverages, live music and other exciting activities, such as games, contests and a silent auction. The party even features live video feeds, allowing participants to experience every second of the action at the Derby!
“Hillbilly Outfield is a great way for friends and families to come together and enjoy the pageantry of the Kentucky Derby while supporting a great cause,” said Hafendorfer.
Make-A-Wish is proud to recognize The Hillbilly Outfield Annual Derby Party organizers for their success in helping to make wishes come true for local wish kids.
