In case you’re wondering, YES, the blushing bride on the right is me back in Halloween of ’93. In case you’re also wondering, NO, it was not my idea to dress as a bride. In fact, it was the tiger to my left who first wore the costume a few years prior after adapting the old lady to her left’s First Communion dress.
Let’s just say my enthusiasm for Halloween has always been grounded in what I perceive as its true meaning: Reese Cups.
That aside, each year I look forward to our chapter’s annual Halloween Costume Contest, where the six Make-A-Wish offices across Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana compete to see who can be the best dressed! In the past, we’ve had a showing from Dr. Seuss, the Best Buy Geek Squad, and even a Magic Eight Ball. This year’s competition was as tough as ever, but in the end, northwest Ohio’s adaptation of Pixar’s The Incredibles took home the gold! Honorable mention went to Volunteer Team duo Anna and Meghan as Minions from Despicable Me.
Scroll below to check out the rest of the competitors, and let us know what you think! Did the best team win? Was April, our Manager of Volunteer Programs turned NBA Pro robbed? Was COO Russel’s cowboy outfit overshadowed by Development Officer John’s dinosaur costume? Sound off in the comments section below!
