Ten-year-old Trisha battles acute lymphoblastic lymphoma, or ALL, but she doesn't let this get her down or keep her from being the creative, imaginative kid that she is. She enjoys spending her free time doing arts and crafts and watching her favorite television show, "Cyberchase."
When asked what her one true wish would be, Trisha decided to combine her great imagination with one of her favorite hobbies and told Make-A-Wish® that she wished to work firsthand on an episode of "Cyberchase." The producers at WNET, the educational public television station which broadcasts the show, immediately went to work to help make her wish come true.
Trisha's wish to help direct and guest star in an episode of "Cyberchase" came true in May 2015 when she and her family visited the PIP Studio in Ottawa, Canada. Trisha was not shy and got straight to work when they arrived at the studio. She worked one-on-one with the director, producers and crew to bring an episode of "Cyberchase" to life.
While Trisha and her family were at the studio, she assisted the director and producers in many different areas, fitting right in as part of the team. She helped them with character design, background color, scene assembly and even had the opportunity to record her voice for her very own character, Oona. Trisha's love for the show and its characters was felt by everyone who was involved in her wish.
Trisha and her family will always remember the time they spent in Canada at the PIP Studio. She was treated like a star, receiving special gifts and treats throughout her two days there. The constant smile on Trisha's face during her wish come true is a memory her family will cherish forever.
The episode featuring Trisha's animated television debut will be broadcast on PBS KIDS in November 2015.
