At 13-years-old, Jacob is wise beyond his years. Despite the medical battles he’s faced, Jacob is constantly looking for ways to help others – and through his wish, he is doing just that.
Battling a life-threatening brain tumor, Jacob has endured countless doctors’ appointments and procedures. When he learned he would receive a wish through Make-A-Wish, Jacob chose for his wish to give back to an organization that helps those with special needs – League of Miracles.
League of Miracles, Inc., a sports complex designed specifically for people with special needs and their families, is especially close to Jacob’s heart. He has grown up watching his cousins, diagnosed with autism, play on the baseball diamond and has seen the positive impact League of Miracles has had on their lives.
When it came time to make his wish, Jacob said, “I will overcome my tumor, but my cousins will always have their disability.”
The money raised through Jacob’s wish will go toward the construction of a new building at League of Miracles that will include basketball courts, concessions and bathrooms. Jacob is excited that the addition will provide another place where his cousins and other people with special needs can go to just have fun.
