Hannah is brave beyond her years. At just 4-years-old, she is battling Edwards syndrome, a rare chromosomal genetic disorder.
She relies heavily on her family to help her with daily routines, and is unable sit or stand independently. Although Hannah cannot speak, her family can still see the immense joy in her eyes when she looks at the brightly colored fish in the aquarium at the hospital.
Suzanne Gardner, Hannah’s Wish Program Coordinator commented, “It was clear that when Hannah’s parents decided on having an aquarium in the house for her, they truly came together to figure out what Hannah would love the most.”
Make-A-Wish worked to make Hannah’s wish come true so she could enjoy all the wonders of the ocean from her salt-water aquarium in the comfort of her own home. When the installation day arrived, Hannah was all smiles. And not just because of the 28 gallon fish tank, but because there were cake and balloons too!
“The aquarium is so wonderful for Hannah to look at. She really enjoys it! She loves showing it to all her friends,” remarked Hannah’s mother, Paige.
Hannah’s little brother, Jude, also enjoys the tank. “It is something they can do together!”
The new fish tank has brought Hannah and her brother closer as they sit together watching the brightly colored fish frolic in their surrounding! The new addition to the family home will continuously bring them joy and happy memories.
