Three year old Marko is a fearless little boy. Diagnosed with stage 2 clear cell sarcoma, a rare cancer of the soft tissue, he doesn’t let his medical battles get in the way of adventure.
Marko is fascinated with cowboys and the Wild West. His wish to meet a real cowboy took him to Dixie Dude Ranch in Bandera, TX, an experience beyond his wildest imagination.
Marko dressed for the part, complete with a cowboy hat, stylish boots, a red vest, and a play red shotgun! Yet the colors on Marko’s cowboy outfit looked faded in comparison to the bright smile he had as he learned how to lasso a rope and even get lassoed himself! His mother, Tatiana shares,
“He was 100% into the cowboy role!”
After a day of fishing, horseback riding and tending to the ranch, Marko got to spend the evening around the campfire toasting marshmallows with his fellow comrades. His face was filled with uncontainable joy as he basked the company of the cowboys he so admired.
“We had a trip of a lifetime” said Tatiana. “We associate the trip with us celebrating a successful completion of Marko’s chemotherapy.”
The joyous memories from the cowboys of Dixie Dude Ranch will forever mark the end of his chemotherapy treatment and the start of more new exciting adventures for Marko.
