For the 11th year, Keeneland Race Course, in partnership with local Thoroughbred farms and equine facilities, is celebrating Make-A-Wish® Day at Keeneland on Thursday, October 11, 2018. This annual event will again provide local wish kids with a VIP experience, highlight the impact wishes have on children battling critical illnesses, and provide attendees with the opportunity to raise money to grant even more wishes to kids in Kentucky.
A total of 300 Kentucky wish kids and their families will be part of Make-A-Wish day at Keeneland. As guests of honor, the wish families spend the morning touring their sponsor’s property, enjoy a VIP lunch in the Phoenix Room, meet the Keeneland jockeys in the paddock, watch their sponsor’s race from the winner’s circle, and, at the end of each race, the wish kids present the trophy for the race named after their sponsor.
One of these kids is 9-year-old Destiny whose wish to go to Walt Disney World® Resort will soon be granted. Destiny has a kidney condition, and about a year ago she endured a kidney transplant when she received a kidney from her mom, Sara. Destiny is looking forward to her wish because her family deserves a break too.
Fans attending Make-A-Wish Day at Keeneland are encouraged to show their support for Make-A-Wish® Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana. They will have the opportunity to help make even more wishes come true by placing a donation into the “Wishing Well” near the Keeneland Paddock.

About Make-A-Wish® Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana
Make-A-Wish® creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. There are currently over 300 children in Kentucky who are awaiting their wish. For more details on how to get engaged with our chapter, please visit www.oki.wish.org or follow us on social media @makeawishohkyin.
