In 2014, Ethan decided to make a donation to Make-A-Wish instead of receiving a Christmas gift from his parents. Since then, Ethan has become a fundraising star, especially through Walk For Wishes®. Ethan and his mom Lori have made Walk For Wishes a new yearly tradition together.
Each year, Make-A-Wish® Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana hosts seven regional walks across the tri-state chapter. During the family-friendly events, participants like Ethan have the opportunity to raise funds to help grant the wishes of local children battling life-threatening medical conditions. Ethan's passion for fundraising continues to grow, and he encourages all of his friends and classmates to get involved too.
During his first Walk For Wishes experience last year, Ethan raised an impressive $200 to help make wishes come true. This year, Ethan participated in the 12th Annual Cincinnati Walk For Wishes as a member of Team McGladrey, his mom’s company team and a long-time sponsor of the walk. “My goal this year is to raise twice as much as I did last year, so I can help one of these kids receive their much deserved wish,” said Ethan. Ethan went above and beyond his goal, raising $1,100 and becoming the third highest fundraising individual at the Cincinnati walk.
Stories like Ethan’s prove that everyone has the power to make a difference for local kids in need. “Someday, I would like to raise enough money to grant an entire wish all on my own. And if I could reach that goal, I would love to meet the person I’m granting the wish for,” Ethan expressed.
